Stephen Romney is a freelance writer, cartoonist, and independent filmmaker living in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, he grew up with a passionate interest in creative writing and filmmaking. He began studying film during his years at East Hollywood High School, a charter school with a film-centric curriculum.
While earning his Associates of Applied Science in Film Production, supplemented by a Certificate of Proficiency in Motion Graphics, at Salt Lake Community College, he was hired on as an arts reporter and cartoonist for the college paper, The Globe, his primary beat being film criticism.
At the same time, in an effort to increase the paper’s online content, he also began producing video film reviews on his YouTube channel, Studio Ghost, which is currently nearing 1,000 subscribers (as of May 2018).
In addition to film, Stephen’s interests include video games, comics, animation, and martial arts.
He currently lives in Salt Lake City with his mother and siblings.
